Celebrating Constitution Day

On Constitution Day, we encourage everyone to take advantage of their Constitutional right to vote on November 3.

:::

Golden Gate University joins thousands of others around the country in celebrating the annual Constitution Day, which commemorates the September 17, 1787 signing of the United States Constitution.

On this day, we encourage everyone to take advantage of their Constitutional right to vote on November 3. Because of the pandemic, many regions are strongly encouraging citizens to vote by mail. On May 8, California Gov. Gavin Newsom issued an executive order that, among other things, orders that a vote-by-mail ballot be mailed to each voter prior to the November 3, election in addition to offering in-person voting locations.

Ballots can be returned by mail, dropped off at polling stations on election day, or at drop boxes in some counties. Traditional in-person voting will take place also.

It’s not too late to register to vote. Instructions are here, and the deadline to have your form postmarked or submitted electronically is October 19. If you are not sure of your registration status, check here.
